The Church Choir sings for the 10.00 Eucharist and 6.30 Evensong every Sunday, including full Choral Evensong (cathedral style) about once a month. Rehearsals are on Thursday evening from 8.00 to 9.30.
The repertoire covers a wide range from mediaeval to modern, both a capella and accompanied [See music list].
For over 30 years St Leonard’s has maintained a small band of competent and dedicated singers, under the direction of Tom McLelland-Young (1970-94), Peter Boxall (1994-98), Richard Semmens (1998-2002) and now Martin Wolf. The internationally renowned tenor, Ian Bostridge, began his musical career as a treble at St Leonard’s in the 1970s.
